01/. Artist Statement
Wading through the complex landscapes of identity, cultural friction, and the relentless human struggle, my practice operates as a deliberate social commentary. Utilizing the multi-layered tensions of the interdisciplinary genre, the work explicitly re-arranges, contradicts, and juxtaposes the intricate realities of multicultural issues, informed directly by the trigger of my own distinct ethnic background within Australia.
I do not merely occupy the role of a traditional creator; I operate as an instigator—an agent provocateur of ideas. The primary objective is to transcend passive viewing, engineered instead to deeply emote, disrupt comfort, and provoke audiences into immediate, conscious resonance.
The benchmark of this exploration is driven by a highly structural, methodical research and development framework. Rather than restricting creation, this rigorous blueprint secures an expansive incubation period, granting the absolute freedom required to execute pristine, complex final systems.
This methodology enables a seamless amalgamation process across divergent disciplines, pulling from text-based conceptual art forms, physical installation layers, and raw live performance. By anchoring these transient human actions firmly within the technical architecture of digital media, the work synthesizes into entirely new, hyper-layered digital artifacts that I am entirely confident to present to the public canvas.

03/. What is Interdisciplinary Art
To answer this question with the depth it deserves, we must look past academic jargon and examine pure creative practice. When global funding bodies like Creative Australia evaluate this field, they often categorize it as Multi-Art—a term that highlights the shifting borders between traditional disciplines. In its truest sense, interdisciplinary art is the intentional, simultaneous amalgamation of multiple distinct artistic genres synthesized into a singular direction and final product. It is not merely a collection of separate mediums sitting next to each other in a gallery room; it is a deep, architectural integration where the boundaries of creative writing, live performance, music, theatre, and visual arts completely blur to form a singular, unified creative language.
While the exact phrase is a relatively recent addition to our lexicon, the practice of breaking these boundaries has a rich lineage. We see its historical testaments in visionary polymaths like William Blake, whose masterpiece The Marriage of Heaven and Hell stood as a monumental integration of text and printmaking. In the modern era, this boundary-pushing ethos lives on through pioneers like video artist Bill Viola and the genre-defying compositions of Meredith Monk. These creators proved that interdisciplinary art is ultimately about the absolute freedom of expression—a space for any artist who desires to investigate, integrate, and hone multiple creative instincts simultaneously without being forced to choose a single label.
For my own practice, this non-boundary expression is where everything is born together. While my foundational discipline grew within media art in Australia, my artistic lineage in Java is deeply rooted in contemporary dance, traditional gamelan music, and live performance. Since 2012, my work has evolved to bypass standard categorization entirely. When a project like Waterfalls Plunge Into The Abyss is conceived, the script does not exist in isolation; the thought process instantly demands how it will be staged, what the physical choreography dictates, and how the sonic design will live—whether automated through digital platforms like Ableton or driven by the direct, raw energy of live, traditional gamelan instrumentation. This philosophy of fluid amalgamation is similarly realized in Passion In The Year of The Horse, where I was able to seamlessly combine the traditional, rhythmic devotion of Kuntulan Banyuwangi with the contemporary textures of R&B and Hip Hop music. It is a methodology where heritage, technology, and human movement are synthesized from day one to create a cohesive public canvas.
04/. Professional Services
Working as the Creative Director for BND Solutions in Sydney is my foundation—it is the vital engine that provides my bread and butter and ensures the bills are paid. Yet, this professional realm is not separate from my artistic practice; instead, it is where my sensibilities as an artist completely transform the digital landscape. I do not merely build websites; I approach the digital canvas with the same architectural precision, spatial awareness, and creative freedom that I bring to a gallery installation or a live performance stage. By injecting an artist’s vision into technical infrastructure, a standard business website is elevated into a functional piece of design.
At BND Solutions, my role exists at the rare intersection of creative design and rigorous technical execution, offering a comprehensive suite of services that fluidly strengthen each other. I operate simultaneously as a Web Developer, Designer, SEO Expert, and Web Maintenance Administrator. This means that the aesthetic elegance conceived during the design phase is encoded directly into clean, high-performance programming. Furthermore, because a beautiful site is useless if it cannot be found, I integrate strict, modern SEO strategies directly into the site’s structural bones from day one. To provide absolute peace of mind, I also manage the entire technical lifecycle behind the scenes—handling domain procurement, secure web hosting infrastructure, and ongoing manual web maintenance.
This combination offers an uncommon advantage for anyone seeking a digital presence that stands entirely apart from generic internet templates. If you are looking for a unique designer, developer, and artist who can fluidly bridge the gap between high-end visual systems and hardened, pristine web administration, my work at BND Solutions delivers exactly that balance. Every project is handled with a clinical attention to detail, resulting in a digital platform that is exceptionally beautiful, structurally secure, and strategically optimized to be discovered.
