Through this work I explore why the existentialists focus on the futile experiences of life in order to find the meaning of life. I am interested to get the insight into their thoughts on meaning and the role of the individual, namely Sisyphus through Albert Camus’ essay The Myth of Sisyphus. We see the lives of Sisyphus, who is keeping toiling the rock to the top of the hill, only to watch it roll back down, repeating this action forever. This type of scenario is an example of the absurdity of life. Absurdity, from an existential point of view, is a desire to find meaning when there is no meaning to be found. I presented this thought in this contemplative video: the looping passage of Sisyphus who is crossing the river under raging up waterfall.
