Miss Taken idea revolves around the peripheral of my favorite subjects in art making: identity, women, and human struggling. It exposes the idea of non-specific gender characters in motion, dealing with common question of identity – range from choices, consequences, dreams and reality and combined into one single emotional narrative. Miss Taken methodology provokes the ethnicity that I was born with. As such, what audience sees in the work is an androgynous performer who will play several characters to convey the profound moment of the dilemma. Wearing strikingly distinctive make up and costumes, the performer represents people from varied backgrounds and ethnicities who step forward to contribute a memory, a wish, a memorial, or a thought – digitally yarned to build a rich poetic tapestry of video imagery that provides dramatic sequences. At times, Miss Taken also strives to reach beyond the dilemma itself, and embraces the deeper values of connectedness.
